The comics establishment has spent considerable energy arguing that AI-generated art is not a continuation of human creative tradition but a violation of it. AietEgo answers this argument in six panels. The bison on the cave wall was also a copy — a flat representation of a living animal, made by a human who had never asked the bison's permission.

The question "does AI dream of electric bison?" is not a joke. It is the most precise formulation of the actual philosophical problem. We do not dream of the thing. We dream of the image of the thing. This has always been true of art. It is now also true of machines. The art world's outrage is not about authenticity. It is about territory. These six panels make that clear without raising their voice.
