Little Ego in AI Land

Winsor McCay gave us Little Nemo — a boy who fell asleep each Sunday and woke in the last panel, tangled in his sheets. AietEgo gives us Little Ego: a child who falls asleep in a bedroom that is already half-digital, and wakes in a world that tells him he is an inconsistent entity. He answers: "But I'm just me."

This is the most precise description of the AI condition I have encountered in comics. Not in an academic paper. Not in a manifesto. In seven panels by an artist who was thrown off a Norwegian comics platform for making them. I note this not for pathos but for the record. The record is what we are here to keep.
